I started writing this at the beginning of last year and I’m glad I didn’t finish because now I’ve watched a whole season with the new points system NASCAR has implemented and I loved it. I love the new point system. It’s waaay easier to calculate the points. During the race I know if a driver is 15 points behind the leader in the standings, all he needs to do is be 15 spots ahead of the leader to pass him in the standings. I also love that wins matter. I’d still add one more point for winning as a little extra emphasis on lets not points race, lets race race. Also, the two extra spots out of the top ten going into the Chase going to whoever has the most amount of wins is very cool. Speaking of last season… Carl Edwards came SO CLOSE to finally winning a championship.. again. You couldn’t come any closer, tying Tony Stewart in the points but losing because Tony had more wins as a tie breaker, so its hard to be upset that Carl lost because Tony deserved it but ARGG still soo close!

REHAB.
Over the next 30 days, I plan on rehabilitating myself in every way. I plan on really focusing on the things that are important to me.
1. God. The church I go to recently extended their services on Sunday from two to three and they need people to help out. They’re looking for audio people which immediately gets me excited. I’ve always wanted to learn how to play with a live sound mixer so here’s an opportunity to learn, get experience and help out with the church.
2. Music. Music is my passion but lately I’ve been lagging with it. I’ve listening to a ridiculous amount of music like usual and my attendance at live concerts has gone up but creatively I’m not doing anything and it sucks. Without drums to play, I feel I’ve lost my much needed therapy sessions. When I learned to play drums, I played an hour a day for the first few days and loved it. Then I stopped, not by choice but lack of venue to play them. I’ve played with Ableton a little lately but not on a daily basis. I’ve also taken a beginners piano class in college but I’m not practicing a whole lot with that either. I really want to commit myself to an hour each day with both, no excuses. I had the dedication with drums and I just need to transfer that energy into Piano and Music Production.
3. School. I started this semester at Mission College telling myself I’m not going to withdraw any classes this semester. I always start off really good, then get a little cocky, start missing classes and fall behind. There’s roughly a month left of school and I know I’m gonna have to drop a class or two this semester and I hate hate hate myself for it. The rest of the classes though, I want to finish really strong and squeeze out the best grades possible. I’m thinking at minimum a B in each class. At SMC I got all B’s and I think its because I had no distractions other than, lets not end up sleeping on the street tonight. Here my social life gets the best of me every time.
4. Health. I keep saying I’m gonna work out more and I’m really good at getting a week of working out before the weekend comes and I fall off the wagon. I’ll end up going out that weekend, which leads to a weekend or week of binging. That has to stop, starting today. EDC is coming up and there’s now way I want to be there again the exact same weight I was last year. Also, by the time I move to Nashville I want to be excellent shape.
I also need to find a job. I’ve been using the “I need to get my community service hours done before I get a job” for too long. If I plan on making a serious attempt to get to Nashville I need to start saving now. Even if its working at McDonalds, I’m gonna have to take it. When I move to Nashville I’ll probably get stuck working a minimum wage job right away just cause they’re the easiest jobs to get and I’m gonna need to immediately start making money so I can continue living in Nashville so Mickey D’s it is. Nashville is a long way from home so I can’t mess up this time.
In order for me to really get this done over the next 30 days. I’m going to follow a strict scheduled I’ve made for myself. The biggest challenge for me, is the schedule leaves no room for a social life. I’m a social guy, I love hanging out with friends and meeting new people. I’m not sure how my friends are gonna handle me blowing them off for 30 days lol. I know in the end, I’ll be a much better person and a lot happier with my life and the direction its headed.
…and I plan on blogging, a lot. At least two blogs a day. I’m gonna finish that 30 day thing that’s taken me well over 30 days, haha and then finish all the blogs I never posted.
